Today is a somber day. I remember where I was and what I was doing and what I did.
My beloved was working in San Francisco and I drove from Emeryville into the City to get her since public transportation was shut down.
I will never forget the weird feeling of being just about the only car on the Bay Bridge.
I will never forget the sadness I felt that day.

Me, too. So sad.
I remember going to work but glued to the TV until we couldn't any more, and went home. One of our young carpenters came in and said, "We're going to war because of this." I saw him as a young kid that didn't understand the consequences. I said, "No way. We are too civilized to get into a war..there has to be other ways to deal with this enemy."
And here we are. Eleven years later. D.D.
